Those who wish to organize a workshop in the year 2003 should send their workshop proposal before the 15 of September, 2002, to Peter Nielaba.
The proposal should be written following the model of this TeX template. The decision of the steering committee will be taken on 16th of November and communicated to the proposer.

PS: some people have difficulties with a downloaded copy of the above template (pure text with "carriage return" end of line: MacOS).
    Here are two more templates
template 2 (line feed, carriage return: DOS)
    template 3 (line feed: UNIX)

         Mini-Workshops template

The SIMU Programme can support mini-workhops where a few people meet to achieve a scientific or planning task with a very specific aim relevant to the objectives of SIMU. Actual costs of travel (on the basis of APEX fares) and accomodation and a per diem allowance (30.5 EURO) for each participant will be reimbursed by the ESF secretariat upon receipt of original used tickets for travel and bills for accomodation. These should be sent to the ESF secretariat.

Proposals should be written using the attached tex template , and can be sent at any time by email to the SIMU Chairman , Peter Nielaba for prompt consideration by the steering committee.

The ESF SIMU programme should be acknowledged in any publications that may arise due the support of the mini-workshop, and the complete reference of the article(s) (title, authors, journal) should be sent by email to the SIMU Chairman

         Membership and funding

The programme is managed through a steering committee composed of one representative per country, plus the chairman Peter Nielaba and a few invited experts. The programme provides funds for a range of activities including Conferences, Workshops, Mini-Workshops, Schools and Tutorials .

    • Laboratories whose research is directly concerned with the aim of SIMU (development of techniques for bridging the gap) can apply for membership by writing to the chairman and the corresponding national member of the steering committee
    • Funding is usually limited to laboratories from funding countries which have endorsed the ESF proposal.
    • Associate membership is also possible for laboratories from non-funding countries (e.g. USA, Russia)
